Services

With over 20 years of experience with personal computers and networks, I am capable of handling nearly any computer job. I specialize in security and disaster recovery and believe in preventing problems before they happen. "Maintenance is Proactive - Repair is Reactive and ALWAYS COSTS MORE."

In addition to the common computer services, I also provide services such as network cable installation, integration with home entertainment systems, home security and others. Tutoring services are also available to help you get more work out of your computer instead of you working more at the computer.

I do not sell any products - I only charge for my time. If you need any hardware or software, I can go with you to make the purchase or I can go alone and get reimbursed by you. Shopping is billed at half of the regular hourly rate. If I go alone and also shop for others or myself, I will prorate my fee for the shopping.

The table below lists my various hourly rates and prices for common services  and service contracts.

My Basic Maintenance Service Contract consists of four 30-minute visits a year and is limited to cleaning and inspection. Each visit I will perform the following tasks:

My Premium Maintenance Service Contract consists of twelve 60-minute visits a year and is limited to cleaning, inspection, updating, and tuning. During these visits I will perform the following tasks:

Prices listed below for service contracts are for the service of up to two computers or devices only. Additional computers or devices will require a special price quote as longer visits will be required.

By default, Windows Small Business Server sends a minimum of one status report via email a day to the system administrator. The average number of emails sent a day is about 3-5 and contain a bunch of information that the average user does not understand. Most of this information is confirming that things are functioning properly but also may contain alerts that something has happened that needs attention. My Windows Small Business Server Remote Monitoring Service Contract includes adding my email address to the administrator alert list and I will analyze all the status report and alert emails on a daily basis and contact you when I find anything of concern.

I will beat any other published price or written quotes provided that they meet my quality of service. Quality of service means that they are offering service equal to mine in both parts and service. For instance, I do not know of anyone else that installs network cabling redundantly using the highest rated cable and jacks, etc. I believe in installing CAT 6 cable and jacks even if the network equipment is only CAT 5 or less so that a future upgrade doesn't mean new cabling. I also believe in redundant cabling - at least two cables run to every network connection in case one goes bad. Again, this is to reduce labor cost for repairs but does add  to the initial installation labor a little bit. Combine the slight extra labor with double the materials and it is less likely I can beat other bids that use inferior materials but still possible since I also work quickly and efficiently.
